Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and String Cup ("we", "us"). By creating a family, joining a family, or signing in to String Cup, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What String Cup is

String Cup is a private group chat for a single family. A parent or guardian creates the family, invites members with a family code, and manages the family's profiles. Members sign in with a personal PIN. Group messages disappear after 48 hours; parents can review the family archive.

2. Your account

Families are set up and managed by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the members they add and for supervising children's use of the app. Keep your PIN private and don't share your family code with people outside your family.

3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior in String Cup. You agree not to post, share, or send content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, illegal, or otherwise objectionable, and not to use the app to harm, intimidate, or impersonate anyone. This applies to all messages, photos, and videos you share.

4. Safety tools and moderation

• Report: every member can report (flag) any message. Reported content disappears from the reporter's view immediately and is sent to the family's parents and to us for review.
• Block: every member can block another member. Blocking instantly removes all of that person's content from the blocker's view, mutes their notifications, and notifies us.
• Enforcement: we review reports and act within 24 hours — including removing the offending content and, for serious or repeated violations, ejecting the responsible user or family from the service. Parents can additionally delete reported messages and remove members from their family at any time.

5. Your content

Your messages, photos, and videos belong to you and your family. You give us the limited rights needed to store and deliver them to your family — nothing more. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Subscriptions

String Cup offers a free trial, after which a paid subscription is required to use the chat. Subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play are billed and auto-renewed by Apple or Google under their terms, and can be cancelled anytime in your store account settings. Web purchases are processed by Stripe.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms — especially Section 3. You can stop using String Cup at any time, and a parent can delete the family and its data as described on our account deletion page.

8. Disclaimers

String Cup is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use String Cup after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
